Italian concert tour July 2009!

After a successful concert at La Verna International Organ Festival 2009 which is 20 years running the major festival in Tuscany where many great organists have performed over the years Pär was then
invited to play a concert of The Rome International Organ Festival 2009.

Pär ended the entire festival by playing a grand program of both Baroque & Progressive music saturday 26th July.
Appart from his own compositions he performed many arrangements of Progressive rock classics as well as of Classical orchestra pieces like Pictures at an Exhibition.
After the concert Pär was driven with haste by fans to the Tivoli to attend a Steve Hackett concert after which Pär & Anja was invited backstage to meet great guitarist & composer Mr Steve Hackett and his band.

The following day Steve Hackett and Pär met up for a three hours lunch with good discussions on music, art, philisophy etc. at organist Marco Lo Muscios place. Marco also gave us a wonderful private concert on his grandpiano.

BREAKING NEWS !

All is now set for the recordings and release of PLP´s comeback album
which will the bands fourth studio CD and the first one in nine years!

All material is now written and recordings are scheduled to begin august 2009
and release date is set for february 2010.

Paris Radio Ile-de-France FM featured a two hours radioshow with Pär Lindh friday 27th March between 20.00 and 22.00 reaching the greater Paris region.

¨á la recherche du temps présent¨or ¨In the search for our present time¨ was the name of this show referring to the famous book by Marcel Proust.

This programme discussed Lindhs whole carreer up until present days. Pär thorougly enjoyed the indepth interview and all the very initiated questions put by interviewer Monsieur Luc Marianni.
A lot of PLPs music was played as well as some unique recordings not yet released.

Pär Lindh inaugurates new Steinway Concert Grand !

¨Pär Lindh gave a highly acclaimed concert in Litslena as the new Steinway grandpiano was inaugurated. With a standing ovation the audience thanked the pianist after he had demonstrated all the delightful nuances of the new concertinstrument playing pieces of among other composers Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Debussy to Bartok as well as some of his own compositions¨

BREAKING NEWS !

Last week Al Lewis now working with Dolly Parton did an audition to become the new singer of PLP. He visited the Crimsonic Label Studios for work with Pär Lindh during a five days session and the results were very promising indeed. Al is now number one in line to sing on the new PLP album and recordings will commence very early next year. Annie Haslam former star-vocalist of legendary English progband Renaissance has also been contacted to guest appear on the album.

Al Lewis band Alaska toured as opening act for PLP during their 1999 American tour. Al has since then done work with famous 1970s band Starcastle singing on their latest CD.
He also did a tour with Starcastle last year involving Oliver Wakeman on keyboards.

PLP played successful gig at Uppsala Progressive Festival !

¨PLP want to thank the audience at the festival for their exceptional warm
responce to our performance and for staying on in spite of the heavy rain during
our entire show. A big thanks to you all !¨

Many from the audience came backstage after the concert to show their great appreciation for the bands spectacular gig.
As encore was played ¨Night on Bare Mountain¨ which went down very well with the heavy weather.

Some very sad news have reached us about the passing of drummerlegend Brian Davison 1942-2008.
Drummer of among other legendary groups both The Nice and Refugee.

¨I regret very much that enough support wasn´t there at the time Brian, Lee and I tried to get a trio together as I´m sure we could have done some memorable music!
However I´m greatful having had the honour playing with imho a drummer legend!
I totally agree with David Bentley that Brian was a very under-rated drummer.
I loved playing with the man!¨

Neo Baroque Music

Ladies and Gentlemen - PLP starting a new genre in music!
After having grown increasingly unhappy with being labelled as an progressive artist or a progressive band we have now decided to henceforth name the PLP genre of musical expression as Neo Baroque.

Baroque means: The unusual & magical, something a bit off the wall, the passionate or the Grandiose.
PLP has also many musicall similarities with the Baroque era. Mostly it´s sence of melody and harmony
balansed with more dramatic darker passages and also involving conterpoint in a way that rock doesn´t.

With the love of early 1967-1974 progressive music and more and more alienated from the lack of melodic enchantment in what has become progressive rock since around 1980 and onwards I have
now decided that with the return of my band after a five year rest that the time is now ripe for the
birth of a new genre in music.

Just returned from the Gouveia Art Rock Festival where I performed a ¨Pär Lindh Show¨ playing the Steinway Grand and then with backing band the Hammond B3. A program including arrangements of classical pieces, jazz pieces, progressive classics and my own compositions.
Although I had a fever and was quite sick both before and after the festival I managed to play the concert due to the fact of the very warm feeling among the fellow progartists and audience but also with the help of certain pills to keep the fever down .

It was a great festival with lot´s of great music in the fantastic enviroment of beautiful town of Gouveia.
To organiser Eduardo Mota and to everyone either performing or just attending the festival I want say a big thank you for a wonderful experience!

PLP recorded concert DVD in Poland last week!
To be released by Metal Mind company in 2008.
PLP played a passionate concert in front of 400 progfans from Poland and
from Europe in the city Katowice in southern Poland.

PLP played their first gig with the new lineup at the legendary
jazzclub KATALIN august 18.

¨The sounds of the keyboards and of the drums of Pär Lindh were
tremendous. American bass Player Bill Kopecky and the bands new
percussionist were both excellent. If I had a MusicFestival I would have
already invited them at the top of the bill !

Pär was over to London this summer to orchestrate a track for the upcoming PLP album.

Later in the fall PLP are planning other shows at the present stage which might include a concert in Poland
also recording an Live DVD!

Pär has been booked for a solo recital in April 2008 at the Gouveia Music festival in Portugal.

After nine days of rehearsals, recordings and discussions about the bands future-plans Bill Kopecky left the PLP Crimsonic Label studio in Sweden last sunday having put down bass on the upcoming album.
Concert invitations are coming in and the new PLP might play their first gigs this summer.
The new band enjoyed tremendously playing together and are looking forward to the new release and comming concerts.
